American cheesemonger, certified professional by the American Cheese Society, winner of the 2021 New York Cheesemonger Invitational, and Product Director at Elevate Food and Appyhour Box.
Amorim has taken up the legacy of his grandfather, Giuseppe Abbruzzo, who passionately practiced this profession for 62 years. He allowed himself to be guided and inspired by his teachings, eventually becoming a renowned cheese expert known and appreciated internationally.
Tommy defines himself as a “cheese storyteller” and has focused on supporting small global producers through sensory storytelling. He is also active in show development, such as “A Cheese Course” where he is a regular guest, and projects related to gastronomic pairings. He appears in the award-winning documentary film “The Big Cheese”, in which he is part of the American cheesemonger team preparing to challenge French master cheesemakers at the Mondial du Fromage in France.
